it felt wooooooooooooooooonderful to get out of my head for a few days . . . until we had to come back early, to a forest fire around my house & was evacuated for a few days ~ not knowing whether or not the house was going to burn down!
it didn't.

i'll tell you what~ a BIG FREAKING FIRE, that is threatening to destroy EVERYTHING, very quickly puts life into perspective for some people.
i wasn't worried about anything, EXCEPT for my kids & my pets ~
The house, the furniture, the colectibles, even all of my art ~ it's just STUFF! and it really doesn't mean anything. even if it has memories attached to it~ even if it was special~ sure it would suck to lose it all~ but, really, in the end, it's just STUFF ~ and STUFF doesn't matter.
PEOPLE matter, character matters, honesty matters, LOVE matters, integrity matters~
